Healthy Chinese Ground Beef & Cabbage Stir-Fry 1 lb ground beef 1 large head cabbage, thinly sliced 1 large onion, sliced 2 cloves garlic, minced 1-inch piece fresh ginger, minced 2 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional) 1 tbsp rice vinegar 1 tsp sesame oil 1/2 tsp cornstarch 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional) 2 tbsp vegetable oil How to Make It 1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. 2. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it into crumbles, until browned. Transfer to a plate and set aside. 3. Add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. 4. Cook the onion for about 3 minutes until softened. 5. Stir in the garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. 6. Add the sliced cabbage and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring often, until slightly softened but still tender-crisp. 7. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes. 8. Return the cooked ground beef to the skillet. 9. Pour the sauce over the beef and cabbage, stirring well to coat everything evenly. 10. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly. 11. Serve hot on its own or over steamed rice for a complete meal.
